Menu Plan Monday - October 19th

I started typing September in the title... where has the fall gone? I was out walking this afternoon and was a little stunned to see that a lot of the trees have already dropped their leaves and the colours were less vibrant, more brown-ish. It seems to have passed so quickly this year...
I missed last weeks plan. Somewhere in the chaos of returning home from a lovely Thanksgiving weekend in the Valley, I lost track of the week and planning meals. We had some leftovers, and tried a yummy new soup, Sausage Potato Soup. We also took advantage of Superstore's deal on bbq chicken, potato salad, home fries and cookies all for $10.
So here goes a new week!
Monday: Birthday take out at a friend's house.
Tuesday: Pork with homemade applesauce and rice
Wednesday: Birthday dinner for a wonderful 4 year old!
Thursday: Soup with broth from the bbq chicken last week.
Friday: Chicken Ceasar Pasta Salad

sign language
I have been using ASL with Charlotte for quite some time now. We started with the sign for milk, more and eat. She didn't take to it very well, and to be honest, I wasn't very consistent. I didn't wait to give her something until she signed, and I used them sporadically. I didn't think we would get very far with it. (Which is no big deal to me, if I were serious about it, I would have been much more adamant about using them all the time.)
Recently, however, she is signing up a storm! She does milk, eat, water, more, book, bath, potty, ball, finished (all done) and she knows what the sign for diaper change is and goes to her changing spot when I do that sign. I always say the word while signing, and she also says book, ball, dada, and dog fairly often. She will say those words with the sign, except for dog and dada. She babbles a lot and I love that!
Last night, she completely surprised me. We were reading the book "Look at You! A Baby Body Book" which many will recognize as it is one of the books they give away in the hospital here in NB. We got to the page where it says "Time for a bath" and I paused before saying "bath". Now, there is a picture of a baby eating on this page as the words before that talk about eating. Charlotte signed "bath" before I said the word!! She predicted text in a book!!!! (Or knew the sequence of the words.) This absolutely shocked me. I was stunned. I know she's smart but....
wow! I am pretty proud of her :D

Menu Plan - October 5th

Another week. This one is going to be quick, as Charlotte is sleeping, and I have limited time to clean (reno dust EVERYWHERE), do dishes, laundry, bake and work on Simply Accounting. Oh, and deal with paperwork. Of course, blogging comes first. ;)
We stayed at Tim's parent's from Thursday night to Sunday night which was nice, but there is so much work to come home to. I'm trying my best not to panic and type fast.
Here is the plan (some may look familiar as Tim's parents graciously cooked our meals for us while we stayed there):
Monday: Tim is out so Charlotte and I may go out too. Get a fancy salad somewhere or something.
Tuesday: Bruschetta and baked chicken
Wednesday: Enchilada bake
Thursday: Curry chicken and veggies on basmati rice
Friday: leftover buffet
